DJ ALAMO

GLENN A.COOPER A.K.A.DJ ALAMO, born in Brooklyn, New York, moved to South Jersey in the early 90’s where he gave birth to his disc jockey career. He always had a love for music, and entertaining people, also within him was an even deeper love for hip-hop and an interest in the art of turntablism. Becoming a DJ was a natural progression for him.
Starting his career with his father’s belt driven turntable, DJ Alamo followed his big brother in the early days of his high school career. He began his record collection by shopping at the local music stores on a bi-weekly basis. Learning the tricks of the trade as he went along and doing private parties, it was not until his freshman year of high school that his career as a DJ exploded.
It was not until Christmas of ’95 when his dad bought him first pair of turntables. From there he sharpened his disc jockey skills to the point where he was making mixtapes for local friends in school, in addition to DJing all of the school and recreational activities. Upon graduating high school in 99 DJ Alamo was already DJing major events and parties at Lincoln University, Rutgers (in New Brunswick, NJ), Fairleigh Dickinson, Cheyney University, West Chester University, The College of New Jersey, Seton Hall, and Rowan University. Also, on his list of venues is Hampton University’s homecoming along with local clubs in the area such as George’s, Citrus Metropolis, and Club Iguana.
The following year as his advancement in the industry was expanding more and more each day, DJ Alamo joined DJ forces with DJ Ace one of his teammates and cousin, who was DJing countless events in the southern New Jersey area. The combined talent of the two, plus the addition of greats that oversaw them like DJ Cee Chung, DJ Kam, DJ Jayski, and also the late DJ Swift.
